Tramadol HCL 50 mg tab is a pain reliever that is commonly prescribed by doctors all over the place. In the late 70s it quickly became a favorite in Germany, but it wasn’t popular in many other countries until later years, because no one understood how it worked and what a great medication it was. Many people now realize the importance of this medication because it works much differently than any other medication out there. By taking the time to learn about tramadol, you can easily determine if it is the right treatment for you or not.

The tramadol HCL 50 mg tab is available in various quantities, depending on what you use it for and how much your doctor prescribes. If you have a simple toothache and need medication until you get to the dentist, you might be prescribed the tramadol HCL 50 mg tab once every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain until you get to the dentist. However, if you have chronic pain, such as osteoarthritis or severe post-operative and recovery pain, you might be put on a higher dose, such as the 100mg dose, or even the extended release formula, for around the clock care and pain management.

Tramadol HCL 50 mg tab can be picked up at your local pharmacy like any medication, but is often found in online pharmacies for a much lower price. If you want to save some money on your prescription and get the medication that you need, shopping online is often a great alternative. However, you will need to take the time to check out your options and make sure that you choose a pharmacy that is legitimate and offers what you need. This might seem like too much work, but it really is an easy task and won’t take more time than what you would normally spend waiting on prescriptions at your pharmacy anyhow.

The use of tramadol does have some side effects, but they are minimal and very rare in comparison to stronger medications. By working like its narcotic friends, but being low risk like acetaminophen, tramadol has a very unique place in the medical world. It is one of the most widely used prescription pain medications for various kinds of pain, including acute pain, severe pain, and chronic pain conditions. Which formulation works best for you will depend on which type of pain you have and what causes it, which you’ll simply need to discuss with your doctor.

I have been using Tramadol for over 3 years for the debilitating pain of Lupus and arthritis. I have had no problems and good relief from my considerable and almost constant joint pain. Taking up to 5 50mg tabs each day - usually 2 per day -is a great help. I found that taking the long acting Untram was very upsetting to my stomach and left me with headaches and a lack of concentration. The 50 mg tablets have been of great benefit to me, allowing me much greater mobility as well as deminished pain.

My husband just got prescribed Tramadol 50mg for his back pain. I am very leery about his using this med because I have heard that it’s not good for you. My husband says it alleviates his pain. I told him to not use it every day until I gather more info on it. Better safe than sorry!

Hi I just had haemorrhoids. Trmadol has greatly helped the pain I have experienced. I plan on not taking them long term for my oestoarthritis o this matter either, drugs are only meant to help you short term. I am also on anti dpressants, the doctors know my long term addictive behaviours, it is all in the mind, if we can just ask someone to take them away

I suffer from chronic lower back pain, and Tramadol seems to help somewhat, although it requires 100 mgs to do the job. If the pain becomes moderatly severe, the medication does not help at all. The only side effect is that it does tend to make me sleepy, but trying to actually get to sleep is difficult after taking the pills.

I was having severe neck pain from C Spine degeneration. My doctor prescribed Tromadol HCL 50 mg…2 to 4 a day. 2 a day was not helping, so I started 4 a day for 4 weeks. The pain was still there when I stopped taking them. I decided I didn’t want to get hooked on any pain pills so one day I cut them out all together and just took Aleve. I got very shakey and my blood pressure changed immensely with the diostolic going up sky high like 139…I was getting faint and dizzy too. I decided it was withdrawel to Tramadolbut the neck pain is really bad if I don’t take anything. I started 2 a day and 2 Aleves and ended up with stomach ulcers after a few months. I got a EGD and that’s what showed up and the doctor said it was from taking so much Aleve. I still have the terrible neck pain. I don’t know what to do because of the Ulcers. I can no longer take anti-inflamation meds now, but I need to cut down the neck pain..I think I’ll get the shot of cortizone next. I would still take one or two Tromadol, but I don’t know if it is an anti-inflamatory med as well as for pain. I’m trying to find out now.

I take Tramadal now and then for back pain, It does work great for me, I cut the 50mg in half and take half in the morning and half latter in the day. This drug does make you feel high in my case, but the pain is gone. I have found no bad side effects about the drug anywhere. It seems to be safer to the body then tylenol or asprin. Heres the best study I found on it. http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/cgi/news/release?id=110001

I am 21 years old and was diagnosed with seronegative spondyloarthritis. It has attacked my back, and the major joins on the right side of my body (Right shoulder, hip, and knee)I was first diagnosed with this when I was 18, but I had the pain and symptoms since I was 14. It took a dozen specialists 4 years to figure out what I had as I did not contain the normal genetic marker that is commonly found in people with spondyloarthritis.

When I was 14 and first started having pain in my back and the right side of my hip, I was prescribed Tramadol HCL 50mg. I would go from not being able to even walk, to being able to walk at a fast pace (I can no longer jog or run) thanks to Tramadol.

I still take it to this day and it still works as good as when I first started. I am glad that I have not yet gotten to the point where the medicine does not become as effective. In fact, I have had my dosage lower twice since I first started taking it (Went from 6 50mg pills a day down to 3) Mainly because of excersise.

My only concern is that I am extremely addicted to Tramadol. I can tell immediatly when I forget a dose. I start sweating, get cravings, and am unable to think clearly.

My fear is that one day I may accidently forget my bottle and will be without Tramadol. I can not go longer than 12 hours before my withdrawel kicks in.

For people considering the use of Tramadol, do not use for an extended period of time unless abosolutely necessary. While I just said that I am addicted to it, I would still choose to take it if I had the chance to go back and time knowing what I know now. The years of pain relief that Tramadol offers is far greater than what I know I will have to experience one day when I have to give up Tramadol.

This may sound crazy; however, it is a true story..I have a chiuaha named Scooter. He was hit by a car a few years ago, breaking 12 bones in his pelvis (the size of a small childs hand). Since then, he suffers from arthritis. We live in the mountains and when it gets cool he screams out in pain. The Vetinarian prescribed his tramadol hcl 5o mg. He only takes 1/2 at the time, but it really does help his pain. I wouldn’t won’t him “drugged” up. He’s my bud…It doesn’t seem to affect him that way. He seems to like it.

been taking tramadol for 6 weeks, had chronic muscle spasms in my lumber region after an accident at work. Doctor gave me pain killer without even telling me there would be side effects which there was but they made the pain much more bearable so carried on taking 4 tabs a day. Back pain much better now and decided did’nt need them any longer tried to cut them down and felt really ill feeling sick, severe headaches, chronic muscle pain etc etc so took some again that’s when it hit me i was addicted, i was panic stricken having never really having to take much more than paracetamol all my life to be addicted to pain killers is really depressing. I keep crying all the time they make me feel so so so depressed today i decided to not take any it has been sbout 36 hours since my last one oh my god i feel so ill this feeling is much much worse than any backpain i am depressed, irritated, hot then cold my skin is burning my head hurts really bad my hands shake sometimes violently i feel sick and much more than i can write.Hope these feelings subside soon anybody else out there feel like this? i am gonna be strong i know eventually it will go but my advice is yes they do get rid of the pain but they give you even more pain when you try not takithem. Doctors think they can give them out like sweeets then fob you off so please be carefull when you take them sometimes it is not always worth the after effects, they are addictive buyer BEWARE

I’ve been taking Loritab 10’s,but they hurt my stomach and only helped a little.I then went to Norco 7.5 and they help a little bit,but not enought. My Doctor has put me on Tramadol 50mg,but they don’t help at all.I have degenerative arthritis in my lower spine which hurts all the time, but worst when I lye down.I believe that the DEA have the Doctors scared to death and they are afraid to prescribe stronger meds out of fear of the DEA.

Safe to say that medicine doesn’t have the same affects on everyone. I’m a 23 year old amputee struggling with pain issues with my residual limb, and Tramadol HCL 50mg really has no affect. To be honest I have been taking two pills when needed, rather than the prescribed 1, and still no noticeable results. I am taking them becuase of the pain asociated with my training to become a runner. It appears that this drug just isn’t the right one for me.
Sorry to break, what appears to be, the general consensus on this drugs efficacy. So I have to agree with what Jim H. said, “they don’t help at all.”

My 11 year old German Shepherd is taking 1 1/2
Tramadol 50 mg tablets for post-surgery pain three times daily. It seems to make her sleepy. I have yet to see side effects, but she has just started taking them. I don’t know if they are addictive in dogs, but after reading all the postings, I am going to be careful about giving them to her only when she appears to be in pain.
Thanks for the comments.

I was prescribed this for an excruciatingly painful infection in the region of my tailbone. I had been taking prescription strength Ibuprofen which had worked well until the pain increased significantly. I only took this medication once. It only alleviated my pain a little, and it also made my toes numb, it gave me a headache, it made me very weak to the point that I could not get up from the couch, and it made me very drowsy. I did not take it again but I went back to the Ibuprofen which worked fine as the Infection had finally began to subside. A few hours after I thought the Tramadol had left my system my headache increased and I felt mildly nauseous. Maybe it is just me but this did not help at all. I had a similar problem with Percocet. I’m not sure how closely related they are but I was given that after my C-section along with Ibuprofen and when I stopped taking it my pain did not increase at all, which leads me to believe it was not really doing anything.

I started taking Tramadol a few weeks ago, which I bought over-the-counter in Mexico. I suffer from leg and hip pain as a result of degenerative disk disease. It helps so much, I love it. I was taking Vicodin, which did not help at all. The pain I used to experience would wake me up in the morning. Yowie! I’m happy it works for me and for those of you who find success with it.

i woke up this morning determined to find out what is wrong with my husband all weekend. i knew he was on pain medication but i didn’t know what it was. it started on saturday when we happened to spend more money than normal and he was ok with it. the next thing i notices that he was very itchy no matter how much i scratched him he didn’t get relief the next thing i noticed is that he was moving in slow motion i knew something was wrong. well this morning i found out, he was taking tramadol 50mg i got online to read up on this drug the doctor prescribed. he insisted that the DOCTOR told him it was not a narcotic so it is safe. we’ll my first hint with this drug use was when it was used by the germans in the 70s. everything was a drug in the 70s. now that we’re informed it will be closely monitored.

Aloha, I just started tramadol 50mg today, because my dr. took me off my wonderful viodin. So by all the good news I’ve read on tramadol I just might like it better then vicodin. I belive if a person keeps the body clean of mucus and toxins they won’t get other problems from these meds. ma halo! c.t.
