Default Side effects with Tramadol

About Ultram/Tramadol; the drug has been prescribed as a treatment for lumbar/sciatic pain. But even if my doctor was assuring me that it wouldn’t cause upset stomach, I really doubt in the doctor’s words.
Therefore could somebody tell me whenever after the drug side effects has occurred? In case they have occurred, how long it took to adjust to the drug? Another question, I have been told not to cut any pill in half, however has anybody done that at the beginning of treatment? My stomach is very sensitive and I’m really aware of taking Tramadol. Just nowadays, taking Ibuprofen (even a half of a dose) causes several problems, however I’m strongly trying to adjust to it. Moreover, my body doesn’t accept tylenol either. I haven't had any back surgery. I appreciate any answers, Cloaria

In my case, I’m taking Tramadol even if I suffer from a very sensitive stomach. As for example, there is a need to take take Phenergan any time I'm given any kind of a narcotic. However in case of taking Tramadol, I haven’t noticed any side effects of taking the drug. Even with my sensitive stomach, I'm not left sleepy and groggy at all, also no upset stomach, everything in order. Personally, I highly recommend this one to anyone who suffers from pain and stomach sensitivity. Just to imagine more how serious are mine stomach problem, it was needed to give me meds prior to anesthesia because I get nautious. Really, do not be aware of Tramadol after reading all the side effects descriptions. In my sensitive case it was totally safe and I’m glad that I switched from Percocet to Tramadol after surgery. It has to be said that it is a really proper drug if you have not yet had surgery and, in fact, it is much safer than most opiate drugs. Once more, I highly recommend it.

Not good news. My husband took Tramadol just once and he was staying in the toilet for the whole day. For sure it’s the last drug that he is going to take again.

Wasn’t your husband taking the anti-depressant at the same time as Tramadol? I can see you list Cymblata. Sad to say, many doctors don’t realize there can be a life threatening reaction when you combine Tramadol and anti-depressants. Even if you goes to two different doctors who prescribed those drugs individually, you should always claim to each doctor what kind of drugs you are taking. Let it be a good warning for everybody.

At the very beginning of the treatment remember feeling itchy. I've been taking Tramadol for about 6 months now. But after this unpleasant beginning, my personal doctor assured me that itching would vanish. Even if my stomach is as well very sensitive, and lots of anti-inflam's simply cause serve upset at my stomach, I have never had any problems with the Tramadol. No stomach upset or stomach pain. It was a very good choice to start it in the first place. It’s well known fact that every person reacts in a different way for the same medication. I deeply hope that Tramadol will bring you all the same relief as it hase done to me. Good luck.
